It was his grandkids that reignited the embers of LJ’s imagination. He found new and exciting worlds to explore through fresh eyes. Grandchildren are amazing. It was the perfect nursery to nurture the author clamoring to be set free. Let your imagination run wild!

Adding in a love for action, adventure, and science made it inevitable that wholesome books for Middle Grade kids would follow. Well, not just Middle Grade folk. LJ books are for anyone who is young at heart and loves a good adventure.  

Hammer was born and raised in the Midwest, a great place to grow up. But the call of the mountains and sea captured him. He now lives in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, not far from his children and grandchildren. A love of spiritual things and family are Hammer’s prime motivators in life.

One last insight. Middle Grade writing is a new venture for LJ, after honing his skills as a writer of Young Adults science fiction under a different author name. Now, he’s circling back to a younger crowd. Kids grow up so fast these days. It’s best to catch up with them; to understand their world and help them get those tough years. With that, LJ thoughtfully explores important topics like friendship, anger, and envy without leaving behind the fun of action and adventure, sometimes with a twist of science fiction. And he does that while staying grounded within a wholesome storyline.
